JOB OFFER - COORDIN. OF WORKFORCE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Located in northeastern New Brunswick, the Chaleur region has a population of approximately 36,000, spread over 3 municipalities and 1 rural district as of January 1, 2023. The region borders the magnificent Baie-des-Chaleurs, one of the world's most beautiful bays. Here, nature is an integral part of life. The Chaleur region is a true paradise for four-season outdoor enthusiasts! Our region offers a wide range of activities: beaches, golf courses, boating, hunting and fishing, ATV and cycling trails, hiking trails including the historic Nepisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail that links Bathurst to Mount Carleton, the highest peak in the Maritime provinces, and much more. In winter, the Chaleur region is covered in a blanket of white to the delight of snowmobilers, cross-country skiers, snowshoers and mountain bikers.
Summary of responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Economic Development and Tourism, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating all activities related to population growth and workforce development. This includes :
- Assist the Tourism and Economic Development management with strategic planning initiatives focused on population growth and workforce;
- Implement initiatives derived from the sector's strategic plan to achieve performance indicators related to demographic growth and workforce development.
- Plan and implement all activities related to attracting and retaining talent in the region;
- Collaborate closely with key partners in immigration at both regional and provincial levels to develop and implement a cohesive and representative strategy for attracting and retaining newcomers in the region;
- Offer strategic insights and recommendations on actions to encourage the settlement of newcomers, focusing on employability, attraction, welcoming, integration, and retention.
- Coordinate and lead sectoral meetings on workforce development, including the regional labor market partnership forum;
- Document the services provided by organizations involved in immigration and those dedicated to attracting new residents.
- Establish close ties with managers and executives of companies in all sectors of activity, in order to understand their realities and be in a position to support them in their workforce issues;
- Promote innovative practices aimed at sustainable workforce development;
- Identify and promote the opportunities and advantages that encourage settlement in the Chaleur Region;
- Carry out any additional tasks as assigned by department management.

Qualifications required:
- Undergraduate degree in a field compatible with the position;
- Minimum 3 years' experience in sectors compatible with the position;
- Very good knowledge of spoken and written French and English;
- Operate the main IT tools and software (Windows, Microsoft suite) with ease.
Compensation:
Ranges from $69,824 to $77,072 $ per year, depending on qualifications and current salary scale. The Chaleur Regional Services Commission offers a competitive benefits package including clothing, life, medical and dental insurance, and a pension plan.
Work schedule:
Thirty-five (35) hours per week over five days, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position may, however, involve working outside regular office hours to participate in various job-related events. Overtime is compensated by equivalent time off.
