FlexGo Couleur

Good news!

The Chaleur Region has officially launched an important regional project aimed at better connecting our communities, making daily travel easier, and offering a practical, affordable, and sustainable transportation solution for all residents.

After several years of discussions and studies, the project is finally taking shape. On January 19, 2026, the very first taxibus began operating on the streets of Bathurst, in collaboration with the Northwest Regional Service Commission (NRSC) and its public transit service, FlexGo.

Although FlexGo is currently available only within the City of Bathurst, the Chaleur Regional Service Commission (CRSC) continues to uphold a strong regional vision, with the goal of implementing an active public transit system across the entire Chaleur Region.

Discussions with municipalities and FlexGo representatives are already underway.

Phase 1 – January 2026

The service will launch in Bathurst, offering a door-to-door transportation system that allows residents to travel anywhere within the city limits.

Phase 2 – January 2027

The service will expand to Belle-Baie and Belledune, combining fixed routes and on-demand service to better serve residents in surrounding areas.

Phase 3 – January 2028

The service will extend to the Chaleur Rural District, connecting rural communities with urban centres and improving access to local services, businesses, and activities.

This initiative represents an important step forward for mobility in the Chaleur region, helping everyone — workers, students, seniors, and families — move around more easily and safely.

Stay tuned! More details about the service, routes, and schedules will be shared as the project moves forward.
