You can submit a rezoning request by completing the zoning amendment form. Once completed, please return it to the CRSC Planning Department along with the required payment:
- $1,500 for residents of Belle-Baie
- $1,000 for residents of Belledune
Every rezoning request involves a public consultation process, which is announced through notices in local newspapers or on the municipality’s website. Anyone wishing to support or oppose the request will have the opportunity to do so during a public hearing.
In a municipality, the hearing takes place before the municipal council. In the case of the Chaleur Rural District, the Minister delegates this responsibility to government officials.
The rezoning request is also reviewed by the Regional Planning Advisory Committee (RPAC), which issues a recommendation. This recommendation is then submitted either to the municipal council or to the Minister of Environment and Local Government, who will make the final decision on whether to approve the rezoning.
