Construction debris includes all waste produced during the construction and demolition of buildings. This includes, among other things, wood scraps, siding, asphalt shingles, concrete, bricks, pieces of piping, doors, windows, etc.
Please note that asbestos or items containing asbestos are not accepted as part of regular construction debris. They are managed under a special program and can only be accepted at the landfill after strict compliance with the rules prescribed under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (see Regulation respecting the Code of Practice for the Handling of Asbestos-Containing Materials). Friable asbestos is only accepted by appointment by calling 506-725-2402. It must also be properly contained in sealed bags clearly labeled: “DÉCHETS D’AMIANTE UN2590” or “WASTE ASBESTOS UN2590”.
