The glass waste recovery and recycling program is the most recent solid waste diversion initiative launched by the Solid Waste Management Department. It was introduced in February 2024 with support from the Environmental Trust Fund. Since then, household glass waste has been accepted free of charge at the landfill site and transported to recycling facilities. However, please note that glass waste from dishware, lightbulb glass, construction debris (doors, windows, etc.), and porcelain is not accepted as part of this program.
